FROM OUR SHOP TO YOURS,
MADE IN THE USA

As Machinists ourselves, we understand the tooling you need to get the job done quickly, accurately, and we’ve created a better way to do it.

Who We Are

The customers who seek the expertise of Mark Dunlap are looking for someone who can deliver on the challenge of impossibly complicated parts, ridiculous turnaround times, clearances, finishes, and tolerances. In short, jobs no one else will take on.

The UNI-VEE was born of a need to hold 8″ diameter round stock of 4340 for the purpose of machining a prototype crankshaft for a V12 aircraft engine. The V block Mark fabricated functioned so well that the idea was refined and brought to market as UNI-VEE.

What We Do

We’ve dedicated ourselves to delivering a new kind of v-block with the purpose of bridging the gap that exists between the available common basic fixtures and the expensive modular or custom tooling solutions for machine tools.

The UNI-VEE has dramatically changed the way we are able to complete jobs, from heightened safety, faster turn-around time, easier clean up, and more. We couldn’t keep it to ourselves, and are dedicated to bringing you new and innovative tools to get the job done.

Meet Mark Dunlap

UNI-VEE’s creator is a long time West Seattle resident. Mark is a Tool and Die Maker who learned his profession the old school way – he started in the shop with a broom and a clean floor as his chief responsibility. 30 years later, Mark owns his own shop and is known well in the Seattle area. The customers who seek the expertise of Mark Dunlap are looking for someone who can deliver on the challenge of impossibly complicated parts, ridiculous turnaround times, clearances, finishes, and tolerances. In short, jobs no one else will take on.

It is not unusual to see a part in process that could be an axle for a NASA telescope, a splined shaft for an undersea vessel moored in Bangor, Washington, or a die that engineers at the local airliner manufacturer just don’t know how to fix so they seek Mark’s advice. Not uncommon either is a corporate jet from Alaska waiting at Boeing Field to load a part recreated for a fish processing machine. When the machine breaks down, fishermen quit fishing until Mark delivers the new part.

A new V block was born of a need to hold 8″ diameter round stock of 4340 for the purpose of machining a prototype crankshaft for a V12 aircraft engine. The V block Mark fabricated functioned so well that the idea was refined and brought to market as the “UNI-VEE.”

SET UPS YOU COULD ONLY DREAM ABOUT BEFORE

The UNI-VEE’s unique ability as a V-Block stems from the customization of the exchangeable jaws. Almost any job can be completed with the UNI-VEE if the correct jaws are used, and these custom jaws can be created in your own shop.

Imagine being able to complete jobs which normally would be declined. Finally, you can complete complicated set-ups in house with relative ease, simply by utilizing the UNI-VEE and it’s custom jaw feature.

Saving you time and money, the UNI-VEE allows you to complete a wider range of jobs, in less time. When used with the indexing plate, the UNI-VEE is so accurate it may be removed for QC and replaced on the bed without the need to redefine it’s location.

MADE IN THE USA

UNI-VEE is proudly designed and made in the USA with USA made materials.

While some tools may be made from imported materials and assembled in the USA, the UNI-VEE is proudly 100% USA made, from the aluminum, cast iron, steel, fasteners… everything is created and assembled on shore. In fact, we go out of our way to ensure we are utilizing the highest quality materials made right here in the USA.

We are proud to support industries not only local to our base in Seattle Washington, but industries across the nation.
